Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a virus that causes feline acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (FAIDS). It is related to the HIV that causes humans AIDS in terms of structure and nucleotide sequence. It often has clinical signs of immunodeficiency similar to human AIDS, but FIV in cats does not infect to humans.
Therefore, reliable and effective testing plays a positive guiding role in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
This product utilizes fluorescence immunochromatography to quantitatively detect the FIV antibody content in cat serum or plasma. The basic principle is as follows: T and C lines are respectively marked on the nitrocellulose membrane The T line is marked with a secondary antibody that specifically recognizes feline IgG. The binding pad is sprayed with fluorescent nano-material-labeled antigen that specially recognizes FIV Ab. The FIV Ab in the sample first combines with the nano-material-labeled antigen to form a complex. Then, through chromatography, the complex moves upward to be captured by the T line antibody. When the test strip is irradiated by excitation light, the nanomaterial emits a fluorescent signal, and the intensity of this signal is positively correlated with the concentration of FIV Ab in the sample.
