Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a common feline virus that can cause respiratory and oral disease in cats, and in severe cases, may lead to pneumonia and death. It is mainly transmitted through direct contact with infected cats or indirect contact with infected cat secretions (e.g. saliva, snot, tears, etc.). Therefore, reliable and effective testing is a positive guide in prevention and diagnosis and treatment.
This product uses fluorescence immunochromatography to quantitatively measure FCV in cat ocular, nasal, and oral secretions. Basic principle: T and C lines are drawn on the nitrate fiber membrane, the T line is covered with antibody a which specifically recognizes the FCV antigen, and another antibody b labeled with fluorescent nanomaterials which specifically recognizes FCV is sprayed on the binding pad, the FCV in the sample firstly combines with the antibody b labeled with nanomaterials to form a complex, and then chromatography is performed upward, and the complex binds with the antibody a on the T line to create a sandwich structure, and the nanomaterials emit fluorescent light when excited light is irradiated. When irradiated with excitation light, the nanomaterial emits a fluorescent signal, and the intensity of the signal is positively correlated with the concentration of FCV in the sample.
