This product is a fluorescent immunochromatographic assay for the quantitative analysis of fCortisol in serum/plasma.
Basic principle: T and C lines are drawn on the nitrocellulose membrane. The T line is encapsulated with an antigen a that specifically recognizes Cortisol antibody, and another nanomaterial-conjugated antibody b that specifically recognizes Cortisol is sprayed on the binding pad. When the sample is applied, Cortisol in the sample first binds to the nanomaterial-conjugated antibody b to form a complex. During the chromatography process, this complex moves upward along the membrane and competes with the antigen a on the T line. Since the complex already has Cortisol bound to antibody b, it cannot bind to the antigen a on the T line, and thus the complex passes through the T line without being captured. On the contrary, when there is no Cortisol in the sample, the antibody b can bind to the antigen a on the T line. The nanomaterial emits a fluorescent signal when it is irradiated by the excitation light, and the strength of the signal is inversely proportional to the concentration of Cortisol in the sample.
