Detection Purpose
T4 is a major product of thyroid secretion and an integral part of the integrity of the hypothalamic-anterior pituitary-thyroid regulatory system. It increases basal metabolic rate and plays an important role in the development of all body cells.T4 is stored in thyroid follicles along with thyroglobulin and is secreted and released under the regulation of TSH. More than 99% of T4 in serum is in the form of bound to other proteins.
A blood sample for total T4 can determine if thyroid function is abnormal.
Detection Principle
This product is designed for the quantitative analysis of cTT4 in serum/plasma by fluorescence immunochromatography. Basic principle: T and C lines are drawn on the nitrocellulose membrane, the T line is coated with an antibody a that specifically recognizes cTT4 antigen, and the binding pad is sprayed with another fluorescent nanomaterial-labeled antibody b that specifically recognizes cTT4. cTT4 in the sample first binds to the nanomaterial-labeled antibody b to form a complex, and then chromatographs upward, and the complex competes with the T line antigen a, and can't be captured; on the contrary, when there is no cTT4 in the sample, the antibody b binds to the anti-antigen a, and the antibody b binds to the anti-antigen a, and then chromatographs upward. On the contrary, when there is no cTT4 in the sample, the antibody b binds to the antigen a, and the nanomaterials emit a fluorescent signal when the excitation light is irradiated, and the strength of the signal is inversely proportional to the concentration of cTT4 in the sample.
